    Modern Reproduction? 1863 Civil War, Cherokee soldier (Confederate) Breastplate. During the Civil War many of the Cherokee Indians from North Carolina fought with the Confederate troops. Obverse: Cherokee Indian bust with engraved "1863  1st Co. Cherokee Mounted Rifles". Reverse: stamped "C.S.A. 1863". 3"x2 1/2".
